Kokkina beach

Kokkina beach is located between the two holiday resorts of Faliraki and Kalithea in the northern part of Rhodes. The beach shares a car park with the Kalithea Springs museum and beach.

Kokkina beach in general
Kokkika is a mixture of sand and rocky beach. There is a large stretch of sandy beach with sun loungers and parasols, while all bathing is done from the rocks. The water is incredibly clear and it is definitely possible to swim from the mostly flat rocks or use the stairs down into the water.

The beach is rarely crowded, making it a good alternative to the more popular sandy beaches in the area. There are showers on the beach and access to toilets.

Child friendliness
The rocks are not suitable for small children to swim from, but there is plenty of room to play in the sand. Slightly older children can easily swim from the rocks.

Water sports activities
None, it is completely peaceful. Snorkelling conditions are quite good.

Beach restaurants
There is a restaurant/café at the back of the beach. You can buy ice cream and drinks in the car park and at the neighbouring beach, Kalithea Springs, there is a good restaurant with a nice view.

Kalithea as a holiday resort
The small holiday village of Kalithea is located a few kilometres north of the beach. Kalithea is a relaxed holiday resort with a good selection of restaurants, cafés and shops. Kalithea has a lovely sandy beach and overlooking the beach and the Mediterranean Sea is the 4-star Eden Roc Resort. A fantastic hotel that the editor of this website has stayed at several times.

Kokkina beach shares a car park with Kalithea Springs, a beautiful area with interesting buildings, a museum, a restaurant and a lovely beach. In the past, Kalithea Springs was known for its healing springs.

South of Kokkina beach is Faliraki, the largest holiday resort in Rhodes. Faliraki is known for its wonderful sandy beach, large family hotels and lively nightlife. Faliraki is also home to the largest water park in Rhodes, Faliraki Water Park.
