Faliraki beach

The bustling holiday village of Faliraki is located on the north-eastern coast of Rhodes, around 14 kilometres south of the city of Rhodes. Faliraki is less than 20 kilometres from the airport, and you can travel between the two by car in around twenty minutes.

An overview of the beach
With its four kilometres of beach, Faliraki is easily one of the most popular beaches on Rhodes.

This is partly thanks to the presence of hotels in Faliraki but the fine, golden sand and shallow waters are an attraction in their own right. The southern part of the beach is best and therefore busiest.

There are lots of sections with sun loungers and parasols as well as amenities like showers, small changing rooms, and toilets. During the summer, the beaches are supervised by lifeguards.

Just south of the main beach, there is the lovely beach of Kathara, which is usually quieter.

Child-friendliness
The beach is very child-friendly. There is fine sand and shallow water, and if you move away from the most popular area, there is plenty of space to play.

Water sports
Faliraki is home to various water sports, such as parasailing, jet skiing, water skiing, banana boating, and kayaking. The largest selection of water sports can be found on the southern part of the beach.

Beachside restaurants
There are innumerable beachside restaurants, cafés, and bars along the beach. One of the most legendary establishments is Chaplin’s Beach Bar, which is right on the beach. The street behind the beach is home to a McDonalds.

The town of Faliraki
Faliraki is the biggest holiday destination on Rhodes, and the town is brimming with restaurants, cafés, bars, and shops.

When darkness falls, Faliraki turns into the most popular party destination on the island. The town has plenty of bars and nightclubs to choose between.

That said, the northern part of the town is nice and calm. The north is home to the big, new hotels, most of which have four or five stars. Many of these hotels are all-inclusive, equipped with swimming pools, and have various activities for guests of all ages. Perfect for families with children.

There is lots to do in Faliraki. One popular attraction is Greece’s biggest waterpark, Faliraki Water Park. Older children might prefer a trip to the go-kart track while there’s fun for everyone at the bowling alley and on the minigolf course.
