Glystra beach
Glystra beach is located south of Lardos on the east coast of Rhodes. The distance to the ancient city of Lindos is 13 kilometres by car and Rhodes Town is 50 kilometres away.
Glystra beach in general
Glystra is a gem of a beach that suddenly appears on the road between Lindos and Kiotari. A true natural beach surrounded by lush trees and with mountains in the background.
The 200 metre long beach is covered with sand with some pebbles in places. The clear water is shallow and usually calm as the beach is well protected from waves.
Facilities include sun loungers, parasols, showers and a café. Free parking is available right by the beach.
Child-friendliness
A fine sandy beach for playing and the shallow, calm waters make Glystra very child-friendly.
Water sports activities
A small selection of water sports activities is offered at Glystra beach. An even larger selection can be found within walking distance at the beach in Kiotari.
Beach restaurants
There is a small family-run café right on the beach. It serves light meals, ice cream and other refreshments.
Nearby holiday resorts
From Glystra beach there is no view of the hotels, but only 250 metres to the west is the resort of Kiotari. A relatively large and modern holiday resort suitable for both families and couples. Kiotari has a good selection of supermarkets, tourist shops, pharmacies etc.
The closest hotel to Glystra beach is the elegant Lindian Village Beach Resort, located directly on the beach in Kiotari. The hotel has a large, beautiful pool area with a separate children’s pool and many facilities. In addition to a good buffet restaurant, the hotel also has three à la carte restaurants serving Greek, Italian and Japanese cuisine.
Just 2 km to the north-east is the smaller holiday resort of Lardos, which consists of a number of hotels by the large sandy beach and a charming old town 2 km from the coast.

Glystra beach is located exactly in the centre of the map. The hotel on the left behind the trees is the Lindian Village Beach Resort, which is located on the outskirts of the holiday resort Kiotari. The smaller holiday village of Lardos is a little to the north-east.
